Was wondering what king of faja I should purchase? The typical lipo 360 Fajas seem to be mid thigh and no compression for under the arm (axilla). Do I need compression for that area? Should i be looking for a faja that goes all the way to the knee with sleeves ? Or is that overkill. Recovery will be in summer time so worried about what kind of clothes I’ll be able to wear
Answer: Post-Liposuction After Care -- Compression, Lymphatic Massage, Hyperbaric Oxygen, Radiofrequency (Venus Legacy, Exilis, Forma) Swelling post-lipo can persist for months, so it's important to be on the right after care protocols. I recommend following up with your physician about their suggested after care protocol. I have my patients wear compression for 3 to 6 weeks straight then overnight for 3-6 months after their procedure. I suggest adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding Vanquish for further fat removal; truSculpt iD, Exilis, Forma, and Venus Legacy for additional skin tightening; and Cellutone / ZWave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. It will take 6 to 12 months to see the final outcome. Ultimately, if you are unhappy with your results, please speak to your physician and ensure that he/she was a full body VASER Hi-Definition liposuction physician with extensive experience in contouring and body shaping -- and not just traditional fat reduction. You can always get a revision procedure by an expert if needed. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Postoperative protocol Dear Lexicon 121, I understand your concern. It is best that you consult your plastic surgeon regarding post operative care and management (i.e including massage techniques and timing) specific to your case. Your surgeon knows your condition well and has preferences on when and what to use for faster healing and recovery. Post operative care and management depends on the type of surgery performed and the technique used during surgery among other factors. It is best, however, that you follow your plastic surgeon's advice on post operative care management for a smooth and faster healing and recovery. Answer: What compression garment for lipo 360, upper back, axilla and upper inner thighs? Recovery will be in the summer For post-liposuction recovery in the summer, consider lightweight compression garments made of breathable fabric like spandex or nylon. Look for designs that cover the 360 areas, upper back, axilla, and upper inner thighs while providing proper support. Consult with your surgeon for specific recommendations tailored to your procedure and recovery needs.

Answer: Marena garments We use Marena Garments in our office. They have ones that come up under the armpit which might be enough so you don’t have to have the arm compression garment as well. I would ask your Plastic Surgeon if you would need the arm compression garment.

Answer: Traveling for surgery Plastic surgeons of the United States typically supply compression garments for their patients. If they don’t they will give you instructions on what compression garbages to obtain. I do not recommend patients travel long distances to have elective surgical procedures. Patients seem to not appreciate the importance of having in person consultations, the number of people who have issues with the results and need revisions and the complications actually do happen. Stay local for elective surgical procedures and have in person consultations when selecting a provider. During consultations postoperative instructions will or at least should be reviewed.
