Hello Doctors, I hope you are well. I had a lift with implants a year ago and I am booked for revision because they are too low. I have 300cc MP which made me go from a D to a DD. Im going bigger to 450 but Im torn between going to mod plus or high. I like the round look but not TOO round. I dont want to look pushed together and fake but I still want the fullness. Do you think the HP could still look relatively natural because I have larger breasts naturally?
Answer: Profile Your surgeon who has measured you will be the best one to tell you if a higher profile is needed for the larger breast. It is best that the implant sits well in the pocket. Going larger often means using a higher profile implant with a more narrow base to fit the base of your breast.

Answer: Implant choice Thank you for your question. There are multiple ways to choose an implant size and profile. If comparing a 450 MP to HP you understand that the dimension from your chest forward is more with an HP. Therefore The width is less. The concern with upsizing implants is that the width becomes greater and greater and starts to exceed the actual width of your breast. You probably will not notice a large projection difference between the two profiles, but if your implant is too wide your arm will start to rub against the implant which can be quite annoying for patients. The best thing to do is to go over your measurements with your plastic surgeon. Good luck.

Answer: Implant size Dear MissV_, breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small. You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.
