Hi there, It is fairly common to experience bruising after having a lip augmentation. From what I can see from the picture you posted, the bruise does not look concerning, but I highly recommend following up with your injector if you experience other symptoms such as pain, worsening of the bruise, skin breakdown, etc.
Bruising may happen during a lip augmentation procedure, and yours looks mild - it will likely be gone in a few more days. Hope this helps. Dr Joseph
Thank you for sharing your question and photograph. Delayed bruising is not uncommon and will resolve over 7-10 days time. I would recommend using some warm compresses and arnica Montana supplementation to help speed healing. Hope this helps.
Swelling and bruising can last 1 to 2 weeks after lip filler injections. To diminish the bruising, I recommend using LightStim LED or, in more significant cases, a vascular laser or IPL treatment. Arnica with Bromelain ("Arnika Forte") can also be taken to help speed up the healing. If you're unhappy with your results, you can also have the filler dissolved with hyaluronidase and try a different filler and/or technique next time. If the bruising doesn't improve - or if you feel any pain - see your physician or an experienced cosmetic dermatologist for an evaluation. Best, Dr. Emer
Hey there thanks for the question! The bruise looks entirely normal for lip filler injections and these bruises typically last for less than 2 weeks. No need to worry! Good look
Hi danielaxo,Thanks for your question and for sharing a photo. It is not uncommon to experience some bruising after having lip injection as it is a delicate area. From your photo, it doesn't look too dark and so should subside quickly. I imagine you will be going in for a follow-up to ensure all is well post treatment. Any concerns you have should be addressed at this visit! Hope this helps. Best, Manish Khanna, MD FRCPC
Hi there! Thanks so much for your query. Bruising can often occur following lip filler treatment and this can vary from patient to patient. Generally you should allow up to two weeks for this to subside and if you are still concerned after this time you can book in for a review with your practitioner. Many Thanks,Dr. Jess
Lip Injections are one of the most frequent requests in my office. Bruises are not too common in the lips but when they occur they can take a week or more to resolve because it is a vascular area. I would recommend ice and Arnica and V-Beam to the bruised area to make it go away faster. Please consult an expert in lip injections for the best cosmetic results. Best, Dr. Green
It is common to see bruising after lip injection which can change color from dark to light brown or yellowish hue once the blood component of the bruising (hematoma) is being cleared by the body. It should improve over time. Applying warm compress to the area may help hasten the improvement.
Absolutely normal - swelling and bruising is expected after lip injections... Usually bruising is much worse than this! Don’t worry!
