I peeled off dry skin and there is a lump there now. Can lip filler cause extra inflammation when you get a wound?

I got my lips done a week ago and the swelling is pretty much completely gone. I had chapped lips early yesterday and the skin was peeling off so I took the skin off and it irritated my lip so much that there is a huge lump where the skin was peeled off that has not gone away since. Should I be concerned? Can the lip filler cause extra inflammation when you get a wound? Or could it be something more serious?

The presence of silicone in your lips should not affect your results from a temporary lip filler. Temporary gel fillers carry small risks of necrosis, biofilm, infection, and blindness, and these risks are not made worse by your preexisting liquid silicone. Hope this helps. Dr Joseph
