Significant bruising after lip fillers - What’s the reason it could have bruised so much worse. How long will this take to heal?

You have swelling, which is normal and can last 1-2 weeks after lip injections. I recommend using an LED LightStim to decrease bruising. If more significant bruising is present, I recommend using a vascular laser or IPL treatment to help reduce the bruising more quickly. Arnik with bromelain pills (arnika forte) can also be taken to help speed up the healing. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. Best, Dr. Emer

bruising can be caused by a number of different factors, most common cause is blood vessel penetration during filler injection. If you are concerned, I suggest you to discuss this with your injector.

Bruising can be normal after lip fillers. Factors that increase your risk of bruising include sweating, alcohol, or vigorous activity around the time of your injection. Since you know you tend to bruise, I recommend starting Arnica prior to your next injection as well as icing the lips just before the injection.
