Very wide space between breasts! Are my breasts tuberous? Any other options but implants? (Photo)

Thank you for your pictures.  I do not believe that you have tuberous breast deformity.  Implants follow the natural anatomy and therefore will not close the distance between your breasts.

Far more important than the technique is the skill and experience of your plastic surgeon. Hi!! The gap between your breast will not resolve with implants. Implants are placed behind the natural breast. Whats improved its the cleavage. You breast are not tuberous. Dr C

Thanks for your inquiry.  A wider space between the breasts is not a typical feature of tuberous breasts.  The photos do not provide much information but from the side profile the breast shape appears completely normal.

Thanks for your question. The gap you are describing is more a function of the anatomy of your chest wall. The sternum (breast bone) is fairly wide. There will be a limit to how far medial that you can place the implant because the muscle attaches at the lateral edge of the breast bone. The implants can help make that gap look less wide, but you will never appear to have "kissing" implants. As others have mentioned, you don't have a tuberous breast. You have a very good shape. If you choose to have implants it would be to increase your size. Best of Luck!

You do not have tuberous breasts. The wide space between your breasts is in part due to your rib cage and chest wall shape but while you have little breast volume medially (toward the center) your lower breast fold does extend further medial than you may think. What this means is an augmentation with the right size implants will give you more cleavage and make that gap smaller. See a board certified plastic surgeon and you will do well. Good luck

Your breasts are naturally-shaped, laterally-positioned, and not unattractive at all! In fact, I think you can have a very natural and beautiful result from breast augmentation, as long as the implants are chosen appropriately for your anatomy, and your goals are consistent with your anatomy.Your wide shoulders and correspondingly wide chest, plus breasts that are somewhat smaller than proportionate for your frame are what give you this wide cleavage you do not like. Choosing implants that give you the size you desire, and then choosing the profile that corresponds with the width of your submuscular pocket diameter will give you the best result and a nice improvement in cleavage.Please do not "fall" for the advice (incorrect, IMHO) that high profile implants will give you the best cleavage and upper pole fullness. Actually, HP implants have the narrowest width, and since they are round, also the shortest height, so when they reach their proper position with relation to your inframammary creases, they will actually have LESS upper pole fullness, WIDER cleavage, and will stick out less naturally with slightly more projection.If you want fullness, AND a nice narrow (as possible anatomically) cleavage, then choose the widest profile that "fits" your size and base. BTW, cleavage is not something that is usually achieved by implants in the nude. Rather, a good push-up brassiere (and adequate breast volume) is what gives you good cleavage. You have to have something to push up, after all, and that should be soft, natural, teardrop-shaped breasts that look "normal" when nude, and as high, round, and full as you wish in the bra of your choice.Some women have expressed that they like the round, full, "fake" look (what I call the "Baywatch coconuts"), and that is a look that some women actually do prefer. Nothing wrong with that, but what they often don't realize is that the high, round, "fake" look is achieved by either a bra, OR by developing capsular contracture. The "look" may be fine clothed, but not when nude, or when hugging someone and feeling like you have croquet balls in your vest pockets!Go for the soft natural look and then clothe your breasts however you wish for the look you desire! Based on the photos, I believe your breasts are naturally located more to the sides of your chest, rather than towards the center.  You are a bit more narrow on the left than right but you do not have tuberous breasts.Most women want more cleavage in the center, and carefully measuring you, and then selecting an implant to maximize the base width of your breasts will be important to get the result you may want. Best Wishes,Dr L

I do not think that you have tuberous breast, but you do have wide spaced breasts. Improvement is limited by your anatomy for the most part. Some improvement may occur with implants.

You do not have what we call a tuberous breast, however with the new classifications, you may find a surgeon, which can tell you you have a mild form. The space in between your breasts is a consequence of the shape of your chest bones and it will be very difficult to change their shape, however an implant will fill in the space to some degree, the only way a surgeon can give you an honest opinion is after an exam.Be sure you only seek the advise of surgeons certified by the American board of Plastic Surgery
