Having breast lift to correct tuberous breasts (had lift 12 years ago but wasn't satisfied). Do not want implants. New surgeon also offered fat grafting to enhance shape (100-150 cc per breast; goal is shape, not volume). I'm hesitant re: lipo; concerned w/ recovery and lumps/bumps @ harvest site. Surgeon says flanks are good harvest site b/c they rarely result in bumps/lumps - is this true? Is the fat grafting add-on worth it in my case? Have always hated breasts, want the best result possible.
Answer: Tuberous Breasts and Lipo All surgical procedures carry some degree of risk, both the lipo and the lift. Fat grafting can be used to improve the contours of the breast (#NaturalBreastLIft or #CaliforniaBreastLift). Also remember that any breast operation can result in changes in sensation. This happens less with lifts than reductions but is still possible. Occasionally, minor complications occur and do not affect the surgical outcome. Major complications associated with this procedure are rare. The suitability of the breast lift procedure and specific risks may be determined during your consultation.

Answer: Tuberous breasts and and lipo I am very glad to be answer this question for you as I have a special interest in tuberous breast deformity.Fat transfer will not be effective in correcting or improving tuberous breasts. However you can have tuberous breast correction with surgery and without breast implants. But not with fat transfer. You getting liposuction in your hips and flanks is a different issue. Should you chose to have liposuction there you shall have a good result regarding the liposuction. So to summarize: You can have breast revision and correction of tuberous breast deformity without implant insertion. I do not need to use breast implants to correct tuberous breasts.Lipo can be very effective to correct your flanks and hips.Have a happy 4th!

Answer: Fat grafting + lift to correct tuberous breasts? What is risk of lumpiness to the harvest site? If you find an expert at liposuction and fat transfer, the risk for irregularity is exceptionally small. Liposuction of the sides and back tends to produce good quality fat without much risk for irregularity.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA

Answer: Tuburous breast It is not clear on the pictures posted that you have tuberous breast. Need to see the level of the infra-mammary line on both breasts and if there is a difference of the level of the infra-mammary line. Also need to se if there is constriction of the lower pole of the breasts. There is significant asymmetry of the breasts. There is emptiness of the upper pole of both breasts. As for the flanks, there is significant asymmetry of the flanks. That can be corrected with liposuction. The skin will most probably retract well in those areas. An experienced Plastic surgeon, Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic surgery will minimize the potential for irregularities and lumpiness. As for fat transfer to the breast, you need to understand this procedure well and the potential risks and complications, oil cysts, micro and macro calcifications. no take of the graft, interference with mammogram. Lumpness, May be all what you need is a breast lift. ( you seems to have had a cicum-areolar lift in the past. Now you need a full probably inverted T incision for ideal results.Lollipop incision with implants.Understand your choices then make your decision based on accurate examination and thoughtful plan for correction that you and the plastic surgeon are comfortable with,
