Having breast lift to correct tuberous breasts (had lift 12 years ago but wasn't satisfied). Do not want implants. New surgeon also offered fat grafting to enhance shape (100-150 cc per breast; goal is shape, not volume). I'm hesitant re: lipo; concerned w/ recovery and lumps/bumps @ harvest site. Surgeon says flanks are good harvest site b/c they rarely result in bumps/lumps - is this true? Is the fat grafting add-on worth it in my case? Have always hated breasts, want the best result possible.

Answer: Tuburous breast It is not clear on the pictures posted that you have tuberous breast. Need to see the level of the infra-mammary line on both breasts and if there is a difference of the level of the infra-mammary line. Also need to se if there is constriction of the lower pole of the breasts. There is significant asymmetry of the breasts. There is emptiness of the upper pole of both breasts. As for the flanks, there is significant asymmetry of the flanks. That can be corrected with liposuction. The skin will most probably retract well in those areas. An experienced Plastic surgeon, Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic surgery will minimize the potential for irregularities and lumpiness. As for fat transfer to the breast, you need to understand this procedure well and the potential risks and complications, oil cysts, micro and macro calcifications. no take of the graft, interference with mammogram. Lumpness, May be all what you need is a breast lift. ( you seems to have had a cicum-areolar lift in the past. Now you need a full probably inverted T incision for ideal results.Lollipop incision with implants.Understand your choices then make your decision based on accurate examination and thoughtful plan for correction that you and the plastic surgeon are comfortable with,
