For a more defined jawline to strengthen your profile (and help prevent the dreaded jawline "jowl" sagging), we use injectable fillers like Revanesse Versa - a filler known to limit swelling and give subtle, soft enhancements - or Radiesse. Using a cannula to limit pain and swelling, we inject on the bone in strategic points to get more lift and shaping, resulting in a more contoured lower face and defined, structured jawline. I would suggest getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Dear Bharati45Thank you for your question! There are a variety of procedures to contour the face. You can have fillers placed, micro fat grafting and or remove fat from certain areas .The procedure for you - will depend on where the extra volume is, and where you may need additional volume added to make the jawline more defined. With Warm RegardsTrevor M Born MD
Without photos or any information about you it is impossible to give you advise. If you feel you are having a problem with your appearance, consult with an experienced facial plastic surgeon to be evaluated and determine your options.
Without pictures it is impossible to say whether any midfacial fat reduction will be helpful. Such fat reduction is usually modest so big changes are not possible.
Dear bharati45,It is difficult to ascertain the options for you withoutappropriate photos. A thoroughconsultation will help clarify the options that are best suited for you. In general, when people describe chubbycheeks they generally refer to roundness and fullness in the middle part oftheir cheek. This will obscure a strongjawline and weaken the appearance of a high cheekbone sweep. There are many options for thiscondition. Depending on your age, oneoption is a simple non-surgical volume shaping using products like JuvedermVoluma or even fat grafting alone in the high cheekbones and jawline toaccentuate these areas. Other optionsinclude cheekbone implants and jawline implants to strengthen the region with athrough the mouth removal of some of the fat in the mid-cheek called the buccalfat pad reduction. If the fat is evenlower than the mid-cheek or buccal space an endoscopic mid-face lift will helpreposition the cheek higher on the cheekbone, malar and mid-face and cheeksweep. As one ages and the cheek fat pad descends sometimes mid facelifting and/or face lifting is the best solution. These can combine with other treatments suchas skin tightening, fractional resurfacing or even suture or thread suspension. As you can see there are many innovative ways that one canreshape the face to accentuate the jawline and the cheekbone. A talented and certified plastic surgeon willbe able to offer you all of these options. I would seek out the consultation with someone with experience andexplore your options. Hi, non-smiling and smiling photos of your face from the front and side are best for evaluating the cheeks and amount of facial fat. Excess fatty tissue, of the face (I call it baby fat) tends to significantkly decrease by the mid twenties. In person consultations allow this fat to be pushed aside so the true shape and size of the cheeks can be appreciated. If there is excess facial fat and flat cheeks anteriorly (in the front) fat reduction with micro-liposuction combined with cheek augmentation should be considered. IMHO, the buccal fat should not be removed as this can cause a "gaunt, hollow effect" below the cheeks that is very difficult to correct. Dermal fillers (I prefer Perlane) can be used to shape the cheeks or by using cheek implants for a more permanent enhancement. If the jaw line is weak in men, the mandibular angle can be augmented uisng a dermal filler (I prefer Radiesse).
