Hi, I need a revision rhinoplasty to reconstruct the tip of my nose and dorsum, i'd like to know if irradiated cadaver rib cartilage would be suitable for this purpose to correct the deformity of my nose, I do not wish to have cartilages harvested from my ribs/ears. thanking you in advance for your time and advice.

Answer: Revision rhinoplasty candidate In our practice, we prefer to use patient's car own cartilage harvested from the nasal septum. Only occasionally do have to use cartilage from the ear. Important to determine how much cartilage left on the inside of her nose for potential grafting purposes with a revision rhinoplasty.

Answer: Nasal Augmentation Grafts Hi,There are many pros and cons of grafting materials. All have potential complications. Irradiated rib cartilage can work, however its difficult to determine without seeing a picture of what your concern is. Feel free to send some photos.Best,Dr.S.
