It seems that the lip left is the best option for me, but I’m really scared or the scar is going to leave. I need a really honest opinion, does the lip lift procedure leaves a scar? Even if it’s small?

A surgical lip lift requires skin to be removed in order to shorten the length of the upper lip. As with any surgical procedure where the skin is cut there will be a scar. The question really is, will it be noticeable?Skin type and propensity to scar are certainly factors that affect the final scar. Where the incisions are placed in order to camouflage their visibility is what we as surgeons can control.With a bullhorn lip lift the incisions are placed precisely at the junction of the nasal base and upper lip.This is a natural demarcation line that camouflages the scar very well. A scar in this location is significantly less visible than a scar in the middle of the chin or on your foreheadMicro needling and laser resurfacing can be performed on the scar post operatively to further soften its appearance if patients request this.I hope that helpsGood luck

The truth is that all incisions leave scars. The trick is to hide them as best possible, close them with the least amount of tension, care for them well after surgery, don't test them before they are healed and use scar treatment modalities to minimize them. I do not use skin stitches as these can leave additional scars. I use a strong absorbable suture that stays under the skin to minimize scarring. Honestly, you seem like a great candidate for a lip lift, or Elelyft. It can help address the long philtrum and thin upper lip. The incision is made at the base of the nose, where the ultimate scar is well hidden. There are options for keeping the incision as hidden as possible and covering up the scar. And often the scar hides in the shadow. Seek out the care of an experienced lip surgeon for a more detailed discussion.

Great question, thank you!  Anytime there is an incision made in the skin there is the potential for a scar to develop.  With that being said, the incision from a lip lift procedure can often times be made within an existing crease.  The benefit of hiding the incision in an existing crease is that you can often hide the line.  This incision also typically heals very well as there is minimal tension along the skin line in this region.  The fact that a scar may result should not sway you from having the surgery as there are several things you can do to help minimize the scarring.  There are several great creams with silicone to help soften the scar, yet these too will never make the scar go completely away. Lip lift is a surgical procedure which ends up with stitching and results in a scar. Of course a scarring process is very individual. With time scar is whitening and becoming less visible, but NEVER disappears. 
The scar is placed under the nose, in the natural nose crease, in the natural shade. BUT if you’re afraid of a scar – please consider other methods - lip fillers/ lip implant, own fat transfer, etc.
