Additional views are needed to properly advise you. Many factors come into play when recommending a lip lift, or Elelyft in my practice. Not only are patient preferences important but also the position of the upper teeth, the base of the nose:mouth width ratio, upper lip: lower lip ratio etc. Seek out a consultation with an experienced lip surgeon. I would highly recommend getting a formal evaluation with and treatment from a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist and expert in facial sculpting. Technique is the key to a successful lip augmentation with fillers, so you'll want to see someone meticulous. An experienced physician will be able to determine which filler, how much filler, and which technique will give you the subtle result you're looking for. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
The measurements to determine if a lip lift is beneficial are performed with your lip in a resting position. In the photo, it appears that you have a short upper lip and therefore this is not a surgery for you. Changes in animation of the face are better treated with neurotoxins.Good luck.
You actually have a short distance between your upper lip and your nose, so overall, you likely not be a great candidate for a lip lift. Lip lifts unfortunately can carry a relatively high rate of poor scarring, so should only be performed on patients that would truly receive a significant benefit. You may wish for a touch of filler for your lips instead. Feel free to contact my Milford office tomorrow if you wish for an appointment.Sincerely, Eric T. Carniol, MD, @drericcarniol
Thank you for posting your picture. I don't think lip lift is a good option in your case as you've got quite a short philtrum. This plus nose-lip ratio are key we qualify Patients for this surgery. Pls consider other options such as: lip implant/ lip fillers/ own fat transfer to lips.best regards, Piotr Osuch, MD, PhD
It is unlikely with modern lip lift techniques but perhaps with a deeper muscle manipulation or extensive incisions within the nose you might develop some rhinorrhea. You should see an ENT specialist about this problem.
It is normal to get nasal swelling, especially at the ala, post lip lift. This will subside. You may have more swelling if your surgeon used the technique of hiding the incisions inside the nose. Gary Linkov, MD Lip Specialist Manhattan
