Hi, I have always been very unhappy with the longness of my nose. I would like to know whether open or closed rhinoplasty would be a better procedure for overall size reduction of the nose? What is the maximum recommended degree to which the tip of my nose may be deprojected (in milimiters)? Thank you in advance for your answers.

Answer: Deprojecting Nasal Tip While your tip is over-projected, it is not as bad as you describe because a lot of the excess projection is secondary to the position of your septum, something we call a "tension" nose. While I'm a fan of open surgery , being one of the first surgeons in the United States to use this technique, I don't feel this will be necessary in your case.

Answer: Nose shortening and deprojection Hello,A reduction rhinoplasty will address your concerns quite nicely. This can be done equally well via an open or a closed approach. This will depend on your surgeon's preference and expertise. The amount of deprojection and shortening has to be tailored to your face and your needs, it difficult to give you a precise measurement based on a couple of photos. I hope this helps.
