17 days post open Rhinoplasty, a women I was standing close to accidently bumped into my nose going upwards. Not sure how hard the impact although it hurt. It's been 4 days since the impact and my nose is more swollen on the middle bridge section and feels swollen inside. I am going to see my surgeon about this tomorrow. There is pain from the impact in the left side inside at the mid bridge of my nose. Please advise what could have gone wrong in this instance. The anxiety is taking me over.

The nose can be repaired at any time after an injury to the nose. Trauma to the nose can cause a displaced, or a non displaced nasal fracture. The upper lateral cartilages could also be fractured and displaced off of the nasal bones. To repair a displaced nasal fracture, osteotomies are required...
The cost of rhinoplasty varies from surgeon to surgeon. Also, insurance can sometimes cover a portion of the surgery if you have functional problems after breaking it. I recommend seeing a surgeon for consultation.
Pressing on the hump will not alter the structure of your nose. I recommend seeking out a Board-Certified plastic surgeon who will thoroughly examine your nose, and provide options, whether non-surgical or surgical. Best wishes!
