Broken nose by getting head butted in 10/13,had it "fixed" 2 weeks after the incident. Was told the ENT doctor would reset by numbing me & it turned into me going through surgery w/ anesthesia.I dont feel its been fixed as the bump is uneven & I still cant breathe through my left nostril. I just want my bridge & deviated septum fixed so I can breathe, nothing else. I want a surgeon to come in w/ a scalpel & chisel these uneven bumps off the sides of my bridge to achieve my old nose.

Answer: Rhinoplasty for broken nose and hump removal, septoplasty for deviated septum A rhinoplasty and a septoplasty are 2 completely separate operations the, and are done for different reasons. A rhinoplasty is performed for cosmetic purposes to straighten a crooked nose, and remove the dorsal hump. Patients must pay for this component of the surgery themselves. A septoplasty is performed when there is a deviated septum in the back of the nose blocking airflow. A septoplasty is performed for medical necessity and is billed to the patient's medical insurance. A septoplasty and rhinoplasty can both be performed at the same time, under one anesthesia. For many examples and more information about the difference between the 2 surgeries, please see link and the video below

Answer: FIxing nasal fracture Rhinoplasty after a nasal fracture is more difficult than nasal augmentation without a prior injury. When the bone heals, it can form these slight irregularities which are sometimes difficult to correct completely back to your prior state. That being said, I think you would absolutely benefit from a rhinoplasty to address the bumps and also to improve your breathing. I would need to evaluate you in person, but many times I am able to do these cases mostly covered by your insurance. Best of luck
