It's my understanding a nose can "break" after rhinoplasty even if no bones break because cartilage tears off. If that case, must someone wait 3-6 months, or can nasal cartilage be reset on bone, much like broken bones can be straightened soon after an injury?

The cost of rhinoplasty varies from surgeon to surgeon. Also, insurance can sometimes cover a portion of the surgery if you have functional problems after breaking it. I recommend seeing a surgeon for consultation.
Pressing on the hump will not alter the structure of your nose. I recommend seeking out a Board-Certified plastic surgeon who will thoroughly examine your nose, and provide options, whether non-surgical or surgical. Best wishes!
You are still too early after surgery. Try and relax, give it more time. You might try humidified air to help clear your nose of dried blood. Maintain communication with your surgeon about your concerns. All the Best.
