I feel like my implants are too big and wide for my body and it's making me extremely depressed. I wanted a c cup maybe small d and we used 500 cc moderate high xtra mentor which has a bwd of 13 which my surgeon said I had so he recommended. If I went down in cc in the high profile would it be more in my frame and not as wide? Or if I went to a moderate plus in a smaller cc would it also fit more into my frame I don't know what to do and need opinions.
Answer: Implant Exchange The volume (500 cc) and the diameter (13 cm) doesn't match any implant in the Xtra catalog for either moderate plus or high profile. Regardless, by holding the diameter to around 13, just going from a high profile to mod plus will drop the volume by 100 to 150 cc, which would be a 20-25% reduction in volume, a small but appreciable drop in size. If you wanted to also reduce breast width, you'll need a smaller diameter implant too, which would drop volume by roughly 200 cc, and be around a 40% reduction, a medium reduction in size. Do not stay with high profile with a significantly smaller implant, it will be too narrow and ball shaped in appearance; a mod plus will look better.

Answer: High profile Dear Bells1234555, implant profile is a very important consideration. Many patients wrongly assume that the higher the profile the better. The truth is, the more profile (or projection/height) and implant has, the narrower its base has to become. This has several problematic consequences. The first is that the patient loses width and therefor cleavage of the breast. The second is the breast becomes more narrow and pendulous, often falling lateral and onto the side of the chest, and third, high profile implants have a higher risk of bottoming out because they exert more pressure on the inframammary fold than moderate profile implants. High profile implants do have a role in symmastia repair (when I need to narrow the basewidth) but otherwise I try to avoid them. Answer: Smaller implants with circumareola approach I recommend a circumareola approach to lift the nipple-areola complex higher and more centrally to increase your cleavage. I also recommend smaller implants and plication of the pockets inferiorly and laterally to bring the breasts up and in. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Implants Yes, go smaller because you are bottoming out from the weight of your heavy implants. Plus, they have stretched and thinned your own tissue. Consider going to 350 cc's, and you may need mesh for support. This size will fit your frame much better. A moderate plus profile will also look nice.

Answer: Implant exchange for smaller I think you would look very nice with smaller implants. Depending on how small you want to go, it might change whether to use moderate plus or high profile implants. I think that the high profile style would be less wide for you and therefore compliment your body shape better, but an in-person discussion with your surgeon should allow him/her to describe what each change in size and profile would look like. Then you can make the most informed decision about which one to choose. Hope that helps. Best of luck!
