Large hard knot under my chin and one near the back of my jaw line after FaceTite/lipo. Is this normal?

I would like to know if this is a normal occurrence after this procedure or should I be very concerned. I unfortunately, do not have a phone that I can take pictures. The procedure was done last week and I wore dressings and a pressure garment until today. Dr took them off, told me I was really swollen and was going to prescribe a med for that. Not to see him for 10 days. Should I be doing anything to break them up?

There can be some hardness and even a lumpy feel sometimes after FaceTite and microliposuction.  This is usually the inflammation and induration that can fluctuate for even over a month until this inflammation ultimately causes a tightening of the skin and soft tissues of the lower face and neck.   I would give your surgeon a call to make sure you are doing all of the appropriate things to help resolve it faster.

It is common to have hardened areas after neck liposuction and the radiofrequency energy. However it is always best to have your surgeon address the area of concern to rule out anything that is out of the ordinary. Yes, this is a frequent occurrence after FaceTite, especially when combined with liposuction and more commonly occurs at or near the incision sites. The lumps are areas were there tissues are inflamed and/or swollen so tight the tissues feel firm. This will resolve with time, however using compression, Arnica, anti-inflammatories and even massaging these areas can speed the process along. Sometimes you can have isolated firmness after the procedure which is self limiting. If you had liposuction simultaneously this could also be related to that. Make sure you followup with your physician.

It is difficult without an exam or photo.  There can be fluid accumulation in this area.  We use arnica, anti-inflammatories, ice packs and compression to reduce swelling.  I also use massage.

Thank you for your question. The knots you describe are not an uncommon occurrence. I treat all of my patients with lumphatic massage, Venus Legacy and acoustic wave therapy (Z Wave) for a couple weeks following their NeckTitie/FaceTite procedure.
