I had a revision rhinoplasty with a cartilage graft 2 weeks ago. Will my results be affected by this infection? And what do you believe it is?
Answer: Cab infection change the shape of the nose? It depends on the type of infection, duration of the infection, site of infection, presence of grafts in the proximity of the infection, presence of implants or permanent sutures next the infection, how soon it is discovered, how fast it is treated, selection of the antibiotics based on culture results and some other factors. In the absence of grafts and foreign material the infections that are discovered early and treated early should not result is a major difference in the outcome of the surgery . Regardless, the ill effects are usually correctable. I assume you have been in touch with your surgeon.

Answer: Infection after rhinoplasty Thank you for your question. Judging by the pictures alone it's hard to determine if you have an infection. Swelling and some redness can be present after surgery- particularly revision cases. If you do have an infection, this potentially could affect the result if leads to resorption of cartilage grafts. I would call your surgeon and have him/her take a look at it. Good luck

Answer: Infection after rhinoplasty It is best for you to make an appointment and see your surgeon. A proper nasal exam is necessary in order to determine if you have an infection and then for treatment purposes if indicated. If detected and treated early, infections after a rhinoplasty do not result in any major complications.

Answer: Doubtful Although in severe cases an infection can destroy cartilage, most small infections resolve nicely with antibiotics and local treatment. Your infection looks like a small suture abscess, and your surgeon will be able to help you. Good luck!
