Removal of the stitches after surgery is fairly straightforward. By far the immediate postoperative period is the most painful part of the surgery; stitch removal is fairly painless. Removing the sutures takes only a few minutes and will be a distant memory in short order.
Thank you for your question. The removable sutures after a rhinoplasty can be sensitive when they are removed, but they should not hurt you! Be sure to let your surgeon know about your concern, but I would not worry too much about this.I hope that this helps!-David Gilpin
Hi thanks for your query, definetely will not hurt hence do relax no worry, good luck on your recovery.
Hello In post surgery period tissue is tender. gentle removal of stiches is without painno need to worry Dr Milan Doshi
Depending on what type of suture and how gently they do it. The area is usually sensitive so you will feel any manipulation in the area. It shouldn't hurt if done gently. Best wishes
Most rhinoplasty surgeons use absorbable/ temporary sutures to close incisions inside the nose, and these resorb on their own and do not require removal. Some surgeons will use permanent/ non-absorbable sutures when closing external rhinoplasty incisions, whether across the columella or to close nostril-reducing incisions. If this is the case, the sutures do require removal, and removing them tends to feel like a pinch, some tugging, and pressure. Most patients tolerate this without a problem. Please clarify your concerns with your surgeon's office, as depending on your case, you may be worried unnecessarily. Good luck in your healing!
Hello and thank you for your question. You should check with your surgeon. In some cases the surgeon uses dissolvable stitches which do not need to be removed. Even if they need to be removed, it should not be painful, though there maybe some discomfort. All the best!
Unless you had an open rhinoplasty the sutures all melt. Taking a few stitches out on the columella for an open rhinoplasty is trivial. Relax.Talmage Raine MD
In my experience it is absolutely possible to do this and it takes about 1 hour to perform in the office under local anesthesia..
Unless you had some direct manipulation of your lip surgically to either lengthen or shorten it, then this is most likely just swelling and will likely resolve in six to eight weeks.
Hello, and thank you for the question. Raising your eyebrows after surgery should not have any negative effects on the outcome of your procedure. I would recommend following up with your surgeon regarding any specific concerns. I hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck.
