I had round 2 of Kybella 3 days ago. 4 vials injected. I have a hardened lump under my chin. I am tempted to rub or massage it. Will that diminish the tightening effect? I don’t want to undo any hopeful results by touching it too much.

Answer: Massage after Kybella? I think it is fine to gently massage the hard lump. It may be swelling from Kybella or fat pockets lysing. Be patient with Kybella, it takes time to see swelling resolve. Swelling generally hits its peak at about 72 hours. Results will be seen over the next couple months. I do not retreat prior to 8 weeks. You will likely see nice results over the next 8 weeks.

Answer: Kybella and swelling There can be considerable swelling for the first few days after Kybella treatments. I would not massage the area at this point, as it may make it worse. Having said that you should always check with your provider to see what they recommend as well. After a week or two if you still have small nodules in the area, they may recommend doing some light massage to those nodules only. It is always important to follow up with your injector so they are aware of any of your concerns. Best wishes,
