Tumescent lipo vs VASER lipo?

Question

I’m a japanese 20 years old female. I’m not good at English but I need your help. I’m planning liposuction for my legs and hip(body fat 31%). The surgeon whom I want to ask surgery told tusement lipo and vaser lipo cause completely different result. But VASER costs double of tusement lipo. Also, other surgeon and some reliable reports told both methods cause same result, the amount of fat they can remove are equal. Which method do you think the totally better method?

Thank you for your question kusadome. There is no evidence that VASER provides better results than traditional liposuction. VASER liposuction, like other energy-based techniques, can cause contour irregularities and scarring due to the heat produced by the devices. SAFE liposuction which is a variant of traditional liposuction is used to fix complications following energy-based techniques. I would recommend avoiding the VASER and going with SAFE liposuction.

Surgeons almost always use tumescent liposuction for safety and much less bleeding. You can get great results with just tumescent liposuction. The power assistance or Vaser assistance is just to help diminish fatigue for the surgeon. A skilled surgeon can use several techniques.

There is no reason that Vaser lipo vs Tumescent Lipo should produce different results. The results one obtains is really determined by the experience of the surgeon. The nice thing about Tumescent liposuction is that it can be performed under local anesthesia in an office setting. This eliminates not only the cost of anesthesia and facility fees but eliminates the risk of general anesthesia. Dr Crabtree
