Thank you for your question. There can be a fair amount of swelling after circumferential thigh liposuction. It can take several months to resolve but permanent lymphatic vessels damage is very unlikely. The swelling does eventually resolve. Your photographs are within normal limits for your procedure at this time during your post operative recovery. It is very early in your recovery but it looks like you will do very well. Please follow the instructions of your Plastic Surgeon to get the best results from your procedure. All The Best !

It is expected to be swollen at this time. Swelling in legs will take a while to go down because of gravity. Please continue to wear your support garments faithfully as instructed. The lower down on the leg that it is treated, the longer it takes for the swelling to subside. Swelling around ankles can take up to one year to go away. Actual chronic lymphedema is very uncommon since the lymphatic vessels are usually not damaged by liposuction.
