Yes, skinny patients are thebest candidates for breast augmentation via fat transfer. At MBC, we use the “palm measure” to estimate the area andthe amount of fat to harvest. Using this method, out of a “palm measure” (theaverage size of male surgeon’s palm) a thin layer of fat can be harvested outof a large surface area, such as a thigh. Even in thin and petite women, wehave easily obtain 200-300 mL out of one portion of the thigh. We recommendpatients not to gain weight prior to the procedure, since it is preferable toharvest and transfer smaller fat cells. These smaller fat cells are consistentin size and result in a long lasting breast augmentation. The volume of fatcells does not increase with weight gain, the fat calls become larger oil bags.In a thinner patient, there are more fat cells in the same amount of fat than aheavier woman, resulting in a more stable breast augmentation.
Fat transfer to the breasts can yield very good results even in thinner patients.Kenneth Hughes, MDBeverly Hills, CA
While some surgeons cling onto the notion that this is a worthwhile procedure, the results I gave seen both in the literature and personally have convinced me that it is a waste of time and money. Brest implants are much more reliable.
The typical increase in size is 1/2 cup to 1 cup. In your case it will likely be closer 1/2 if you are truly small and the skin isn't that lax. The best approach to receiving a valid opinion is an in-person consult.
Hello,You would have to be evaluated to see how much 'donor fat' is available. It seems though that your goal would have to be very subtle - one half to one cup size - based on your height and weight.Best of luck!
An examination is necessary to determine if you are a candidate and have enough fat reserve. Liposuction of a thin layer of fat from large areas often provides sufficient fat for the procedure.
yes you could have fat transfer but we would need to put you on a fast food diet for a few weeks until you gained some weight. You should have awesome results if you can gain a little fat :)DSR
Fortunately, I can find areas all over the body that can donate small amounts of fat. The amounts add up so that I can usually acquire enough fat to enlarge breasts about a full cup size.
When fat is harvested it needs to be washed and non-viable debris and particles need to be removed. Some of the harvested fat volume is consequently removed along with the tumescent fluid, blood and oils. Some of the injected fat may simply not revascularize and may not survive. New technologies of treating fat by activating contained stem cells may improve the percentage of take of the fat but these techniques are early in testing.Unless you are only seeking a slight augmentation of your breasts (and few do in my experience) it sounds like you'd be best off looking into placement of breast implants to obtain an effective augmentation.Best of luck with your choices and enjoy the results!
Based on your height and weight, fat transfer to the breasts would not be a good option to achieve larger breasts. Your best option would be breast implants. Thanks for your question. Best wishes.
From your description it sounds that the fat has not developed blood supply and does. The cell membranes break down allowing the oily fatty contents to seep out. Your body will try to push this fluid out. Follow closely with your surgeon to make sure that other complications...
While the concept of using your own fat for breast augmentation is great, in reality it has some significant limitations. Most fat grafting experts in the field will tell you at best 50% of the injected fat will survive, the rest will not. Second, you need fat to inject into. If you...
Fat transfer can be performed after breast reduction and a good option to correct asymmetries. At 5 weeks, it is still a bit too early to make fine decisions about your breast. Discuss this with your surgeon to determine best options.
