Unfortunately, I don't think there is a single answer to your question. How much your breast tissue will retract back and form a nicely shaped breast after implant removal depends on many things: The quality of your skin, stretch marks, how big the implants were, how long there were in, genetics, how old you are, etc. A younger woman with tight, firm skin and small implants placed recently would likely have the best result, compared to an older woman with thin, inelastic skin, who breast-fed and has large implants from years ago. Hope that helps a little! Michelle Spring
Based on the limited information you have given and if I interrupt "recoil" as meaning skin shrinkage, I will attempt to answer your question: 1) breast implants not only protrude forward but over time will make the Chet wall concave 2) breast skin stretches just like with pregnancy. Each persons viscoelasic properties are unique to them. A good indicator would be how your abdominal skin "recoiled" after delivery. 3) age pays a factor, the oder we get the less collagen and elastin fibers we have, thus the less "recoil" 4) the size of the implants also will influence how stretched out your skin became to accommodate your implants 5) after 9 months of explanation you will have most likely reached a steady state with no further significant change.
Good day! Generally after explantation, the shape and size of the breast will be unpredictable. Result varies between patients and it will largely depend upon their age, duration and size of the implant, or previous state of their breasts like existing anatomy, deformity, previous surgerie...
I usually don't look at final results too closely for three to six months following surgery. After explantation you have lost a lot of volume through the removal of your implants. It takes awhile for the tissues to tighten back down. If your nipples are still inverted after...
I would not recommend leaving in the shells indefinitely. Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA
Many patients report the recovery and healing is much more easier than the original breast augmentation procedure. Swelling is not uncommon but it is certainly not as common and for as long as it may be following an augmentation. The #incisions should take approximately a week or two to heal up....
Sorry to hear you feel your implants are too big for you. At three weeks out, there is still some added volume from swelling, but your plastic surgeon is in the best position to know. Breast implants can be removed at any time, and the sooner, the more likely that the skin will recoil. Every...
At this point, the best advice is to give it time to heal. I would give it a minimum of 3 months. If there is still an indentation at that time, you can consider fat transfer to fill in the indentation.
