I usually don't look at final results too closely for three to six months following surgery. After explantation you have lost a lot of volume through the removal of your implants. It takes awhile for the tissues to tighten back down. If your nipples are still inverted after that time, there may be some options to bring them back out again.
I would recommend aggressively massaging this area to help stretch any scar tissue between the nipple and chest wall. I would perform this at least 3 times a day for 5 minutes a session. If you see no improvement at the 6 month mark, you may want to discuss the option of scar release under local anesthesia. I wish you a safe recovery. Dr. Gill
This is difficult to say. If the nipples stay inverted after 6 months than I would bet they are likely to stay that way. Correction can often be done in the office under local anesthesia.
There is no hard and fast rule.Taking care of inverted nipples is a simple outpatinet procedure done under local or with a little sedation.
I would not recommend leaving in the shells indefinitely. Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA

Sorry to hear you feel your implants are too big for you. At three weeks out, there is still some added volume from swelling, but your plastic surgeon is in the best position to know. Breast implants can be removed at any time, and the sooner, the more likely that the skin will recoil. Every...
At this point, the best advice is to give it time to heal. I would give it a minimum of 3 months. If there is still an indentation at that time, you can consider fat transfer to fill in the indentation.
At this point, both breasts should be swollen and if more work was done on the left, it's not uncommon for it to be more swollen. Just make sure you follow it closely with your doctor. Remember, it can take up to 3 months for the swelling to go down and for the final results to be...
Thank you for your question. Smoking before or after your surgery can increase your risk of developing complications including infection and wound healing problems. I tell my patients that it is ideal to stop a couple months ahead of surgery and then for a couple months after surgery. Please...
