Answer: Tummy tuck recovery Tou definitely need someone to be with you the night after surgery, especially a tummy tuck. Try to schedule the surgery when your husband is off work. Another option is for you to hire a caretaker after the surgery. Your plastic surgeon probably works with different caretakers who provide the service you need at a reasonable cost.

Answer: Is there any need to have some one for helping the person after tummy tuck at nights? I think it is helpful to have someone watching you the first 24 hours for sure. After that most patients will want some help with daily tasks for the first few days at least. Find a plastic surgeon with ELITE credentials who performs hundreds of tummy tuck procedures each year. Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results. Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA

Answer: Post Op Care After a Tummy Tuck I tell my patients that they need to have someone with them for the first 24 hours, you will be woozy from your anesthesia and it is possible you could fall, you should have assistance when getting out of bed. Check with your surgeons office, they can probably recommend someone who can come in and care for you. Good luck.

Answer: You should have someone to help you. Ideally, you should have someone you trust for the first week, especially with a young child. It may be very difficult to both recover from the surgery and care for your child while your husband is away. It would be best for him to take off work for a week after your surgery.
