For someone who has a weak profile, chin augmentation can be very helpful. This can be in the form of a chin implant (permanent) or chin augmentation with filler injections (temporary). I often combine these procedures with liposuction of the neck in order to improve the jawline. If pursuing filler injections, another injectable option is Kybella to dissolve the submental neck fat, but keep in mind that this will require a series of injections to be effective.Be sure to see an expert like a facial plastic surgeon to review all of the surgical and non-surgical options in detail. All the best,
A chin implant would be a very effective way to correct your profile. This could be combined with neck defatting with liposuction or directly through the chin incision. Buccal fat pad excision can help contour the mid cheek region if needed.
Apere, your photo is not correctly aligned but it does appear that a chin implant and medial platysmaplasty would be of benefit. See an experienced plastic surgeon that specializes in only faces. See the video and good luck!
Your self assesment is correct. You can easily achieve balanced profile with chin augmentation and liposuction.
The one limited photograph demonstrates a weak and recessive chin profile in addition to fatty deposits in the neck. Placement of the chin implant can accomplish augmenting the chin forward for better facial balance and proportions. Chin implants are manufactured in a large array of thicknesses, sizes, and shapes which is best determined at the time of the consultation and examination. Liposuction in the neck can accomplish removal of those fatty deposits which would also be complementary to the chin projection itself. Dear Apere, You should be an ideal candidate for chin augmentation to provide more projection to your weak chin. I would also combine this with submental/cervical liposuction to provide a more defined jawline. These combined procedures will balance your facial profile and overall facial aesthetic nicely. See some experts in the field and have imaging performed to see the proposed results that chin augmentation and sub-mental liposuction would provide. See many before and afters in the link below and the the video attached. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
Having localized pain in the first month after a chin augmentation is quite normal. The swelling caused by the commonly used extended chin implants occurs most often at the lateral ends. I notice from your picture that there is a slight swelling on the left lateral end where your implant s...
There is nothing you can do as a patient to reduce the risk of infection. Your mouth will be cleaned and sterilized as much as possible during surgery, and there are antibiotic solutions that can be infused into the implant to further reduce the risk (in addition to proper sterile surgical ...
Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures, including Chin Augmentation with dermal fillers or silastic chin implants, for over 30 years. When the chin is weak, this creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy, the lower face looks short, de...
