Would Keratosis Pilaris on The Cheeks Kill Off Beard Transplant Folicles? People who have it on their cheeks like myself seem to never have hair that grows there.

Keratosis pilaris should not be an issue for surgery but you should discuss your condition with your doctor for proper treatment.

Keratosis pilaris is due to an abnormal keratinization of the lining of the upper portion of the hair follicle and as a result there is plugging of the skin surface where by normal exfoliation does not occur.  Perhaps in a severe case this could result in cicatricle alopecia.  It would be of benefit to treat the keratosis pilaris such that normal exfoliation of skin occurs and follicles are not disturbed.

Keratosis pilaris is harmless. If the itch, dryness, or the appearance of these bumps bothers you, treatment can help. Treatment can ease the symptoms and help you see clearer skin.
