Forehead lengthening/forehead reduction reversal? (Photo)

Question

Hello. I underwent a forehead reduction surgery and it was the biggest mistake of my life. It completely threw of the balance of my face, and ruined my hairline and forehead shape. I am desperate to have this revised. It seems according to my research the only real option is a tissue expander followed by lengthening, which I am open to. I’ll do anything. Are there any other options to reverse this? Who is someone that is able to preform this?

I would recommend seeing an American Board of Plastic Surgery certified plastic surgeon with experience in facial surgery. A full evaluation including evaluation of the eyes is important to see what asymmetries truly exist.

I'm sorry that you've had such a poor experience. It's tough to say without a more thorough evaluation of your skin/scalp laxity and brow position. I do not think tissue expanders is the best option but depending on exactly what was trying to be corrected could be an option. From the look of your picture the scar is still fairly red which may indicate that you're still early on in the healing process. You may find that after the scar matures more and all the swelling is gone you are more satisfied. However, you mention your hairline being affected. Hair transplant can be really useful in camouflaging a scar in this area and in reshaping/altering the hairline to be more favorable. Again, a full consultation would be best to see what your best option would be. I hope this is helpful.

Reversal of forehead reduction surgery and who should do this! This is a very advanced technique that may involve tissue expansion and in my opinion should only be done by a very very experienced surgeon.I described tissue expansion in my textbook 30 years ago. I, or others would need to see this in person to give you a more accurate description of what would be with your particular situation.
