Hairline lowering reduction - should I consider this procedure?

Hello, my name is Naomi and I have some questions about the hairline lowering reduction. I am 27 years old female and from my mom’s side high hairlines especially deeper entrances on the sides are a sort of genetic thing. I also had some adrenal problems which made my hair thin and my hairline to go back even more. Should I consider this procedure? I really don’t like how my hairline makes me look more masculine and I am trying to find a good permanent solution. Thank you

Great question! It sounds like you may have a few options. Hairline lowering surgery is a really nice surgery for appropriate candidates. I really like to perform these surgeries and think that patients are largely very satisfied. However, if your hairline needs to change shape, sometimes hair transplant is the better option. Hair transplant allows you to lower the hairline and fill in temporal recession which fundamentally changes the shape all at once. And, in some cases, I will do both procedures in a staged fashion to lower the hairline and then secondarily perform hair transplant to fill in certain areas. Regardless of which direction you go I would want to make sure your adrenal issue is properly treated and optimized before performing any surgery. Hello, hope you are well. Thank you for posting your questions! This is also sometimes referred to as scalp advancement or forehead reduction. Surgical hairline lowering could be a great solution for you; however, there are other methods that may be more appropriate (hair grafting, for example). Or, surgery may not be necessary at all (there are medications and nutritional supplements that can help with hair loss). The best way to determine how to proceed is with a consultation.
