Nose shape - would I be a good candidate for rhinoplasty?

I am 36 year old female. I had braces in my early 20s, flattened my lips out some. I’m actually thinking of having some lip work done along with rhinoplasty. I’ve seen alot about button noses and I’m wondering if I’d be a good candidate for one.

Thank you for your question. Though it’s difficult to assess your rhinoplasty candidacy without photos, it is possible for patients with a button nose to benefit from rhinoplasty. This type of nose is generally small and rounded and has an up-turned or down-turned tip. During rhinoplasty, the tip can be defined and the overall shape altered to complement the rest of your facial features. If your nose appears smaller than you’d like, you may benefit from dermal fillers to increase its size and width. 
Keep in mind that rhinoplasty is one of the most complex of all plastic surgery procedures, requiring experience, skill, and even artistry to achieve an optimal outcome. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon, with expertise in rhinoplasty techniques. They will be able to answer any questions you have and determine the best approach for you.

Hi @Randi234!  recommend seeing an expert rhinoplasty specialist for an in person examination. There are several options for you that can be determined after examination. A rhinoplasty in my opinion is one of the most difficult procedures to perform. I utilize piezo surgery in my practice.  Piezo surgery is a more gentle technique that allows for greater precision. Less bruising and swelling is common with Piezosurgery. In a typical rhinoplasty, a hammer and chisel technique is performed leading to more inadvertent fractures. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!

In person exam is essential. Without posted photos - it's difficult to comment accurately. I suggest that you seek an experienced Board Certified PS preferably who specializes in closed technique and who has a wide gallery of before and after photos
