I just wanted a small knot shaved off and my tip tapered a bit more. I was specific about what I wanted and didn't. My worst fears were bulbous, boxy, hooked and drooping. I feel I got all of the above. It's been six months now and I'm giving up hope for any miracle. The bridge is wider than the tip, which is still huge. The bump is still there and I feel I've lost tip projection. Im terrified of having to have a revision. I just wanted to like myself but now I hate myself.
Answer: Rhinoplasty Results First, don't hate yourself. That's an unhealthy mindset and will keep you from looking and feeling better. You are still relatively early in the healing process. Continued follow-up with your surgeon and a reassessment at 12 months is reasonable. If you are still dissatisfied with your outcome, then convey this to your surgeon. Perhaps you'd like to go elsewhere, that is your right. Perhaps your surgeon can refer you somewhere else. I understand your fears of letting that surgeon reoperate; your feelings are warranted. Meet with a couple local surgeons comfortable with revision rhinoplasty. If there aren't any locally, reach out to national organizations such as the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery for a list of surgeons who may be able to help.

Answer: 6 months post-operative may be too soon to judge a final result. We have seen wideness in the nasal bridge reduce significantly from 6 months to 12 months. If you would like a more definitive answer to your question, please consider discussing this with your surgeon or get a second opinion from another reputable rhinoplasty specialist. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph

Answer: Rhinoplasty recovery: what you should know Thank you for your question and for providing photos. I’m sorry that you’re unhappy with your current rhinoplasty results. Though much of the swelling is reduced within four months, your nose will be in a phase of recovery for at least one year following your rhinoplasty procedure. It is generally suggested to wait until this entire recovery process is complete to see the final results before considering a revision procedure. This recovery phase can be somewhat longer for patients with thicker skin, as you appear to have. If you’re still unsatisfied with your results after a full recovery period, a revision can address the bump and structural changes you’d like to make for a feminine, natural-looking result. It is important to note that each subsequent nose surgery becomes more complex due to the loss of structural support and scar tissue. The importance of experience, expertise, and artistry cannot be overstated. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon, with expertise in rhinoplasty techniques. They will be able to review your surgical history, oversee your recovery, and help you decide on the best course of action.

Answer: Revision rhinoplasty Hello! Thank you for your question.I have evaluated your photos and it looks like your bridge is too wide for your nose. Before the surgery your nose looked thinner. I highly recommend you a revision surgery. I understand that you may not want to have an other surgery and experience the pre-op and post-op, but this is the only solution to make your nose smaller and more natural. I won't recommend filler since there are many risks. Best regards!

Answer: Early rhinoplasty result It takes long time for result of rhinoplasty to settle, in average 1 year plus. What you can do to control swelling and prevent excessive scarring, is taping of the nose and tip nightly for 2-3 months. This will visible reduce bulk and speed up process of maturation. Hope this helps. Good luck.
