Thank you for your question. The recovery process really depends upon the type of laser selected and whether we have decided to perform ablative or non-ablative resurfacing. The laser requires the skin to rebuild itself from the bottom up. Please review your recovery process with your board certified facial plastic surgeon.

A laser peel can make the skin a bit rough initially as it heals.  Often one requires moisturizer for the skin once it heals.

Thank you for the question. 8 days post laser resurfacing is still quite early in the recovery phase. I would certainly wait about 3 months before coming into a conclusion about the final results. Skin remodeling needs to take its course, which is about 12 weeks. If you are still unsatisfied after this period, then I recommend an in-person evaluation with a certified cosmetic plastic surgeon for a comprehensive treatment plan for your areas of concern. Hope this helps!

Microlaser peel is great but the results come in stages.  There is the initial time of peeling, the time of redness and then the agony of waiting for collagen stimulation to occur - that takes 3 months at a minimum and no technology can speed up this progress.  Consult your practitioner - sometimes rough skin is skin that is not hydrated enough and has not actually peeled fully.  8 days is just too early to see fabulous results - talk it over with your doctor.

Often the skin is rough after Laser peels. Milia-like bumps and peeling skin feel rough. Typically, the smooth skin and shrinking pores are noted a bit later after the treatment. Even with an aggressive ablative CO2 treatment, improvement in the pores occurs 4+ weeks out from the treatment. Speak with your physican about your concerns - either you will see improvement over the next few weeks - or you may need more aggressive settings to achieve your goals. Best wishes.
