I had ablative laser resurfacing done on 2 cheeks to treat post acne scars. One side healed perfectly, but the other still has red spots left. I've been using bepanthen as a post laser care, but it didn't help at all.

Answer: CO2 Hi There Thank you for your question and photograph. There does not seem to be any major issue here. It does take a while for it to go. It really depends on settings the laser was used on. As I've said before dermalux is a very good option and really does heal these issues quite quickly so try a course of light therapy. Not sure bepanthen is the way to go as lanolin can irritate some people and I vaguely remember it contains this. Always consult your doctor first, if not getting anywhere then have a think as to what to do.Kind Regards Dr Dinesh Maini Zenith Cosmetic Clinics

Answer: Ablative CO2 skin resurfacing Yes, the redness will resolve with time - probably another month or two. Consider this a good sign - your physician used effective Laser settings. Some scarring requires more than one treatment. Be sure to use sun precautions to protect your skin from developing pigment abnormalities later. Best wishes.
