Hello, I am in the process of choosing a doctor to do my BBL. I am just sooooo scared of the pain because I have a low tolerance for pain. I've had 2 c-sections so that is the only thing I can compare it to. Please let me know how the pain from a BBL compares to a c-section. I would also like to know how painful the massages right after surgery are.
Answer: How does BBL pain right after surgery compare to a c-section? Are the massages just as painful? Hello and Great Question. I appreciate the time you are spending researching this procedure. My name is Dr. Matthew J. Nykiel. I am a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, a Fellowship Trained Cosmetic Surgeon, and a Butt Augmentation Specialist. In terms of a C-section being compared to a BBL procedure they differ greatly. Everyones pain tolerance is completely different from one patent to another. In our practice most of our patients are off their pain medication within 24-48 hours of having a BBL. When you're ready to go through with a BBL or to learn more about the procedure I would suggest you consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in this and can better educate you on the procedure itself. I hope that helps! Best of Luck! Matthew J. Nykiel, MD #CoreAesthetic Butt Augmentation Specialist Liposuction Specialist Board Certified Plastic Surgeon

Answer: How does BBL pain right after surgery compare to a c-section? Thanks for your question. Pain tolerance varies from patient to patient. Imagine that you’ve just returned from a hard work out at the gym for the first time in several months. The day after that workout, you would feel deep aching and throbbing sensations. This is what patients experience after undergoing a liposuction and BBL procedure, usually a throbbing or aching feeling that is easily tolerated with moderate oral pain medications. Your recovery starts day one after surgery. Pain medications are usually only necessary for the first few days. On days four through fourteen you will still feel sore, but significantly less than you experienced on days two and three.

Answer: How does BBL pain right after surgery compare to a c-section? Are the massages just as painful? Pain tolerance varies from individual to individual. Most patients experience the most discomfort for the first 3 to 4 days following surgery depending upon the amount of fat injected into each buttock. According to my patients, the few days of discomfort are worth it. I typically use whatever medication a patient has used in the past that has had success. If the patient has never had surgery or never used pain medication, I use oral narcotic meds of varying strengths. The pain can be managed effectively, and this aspect should not deter you from surgery. Lymphatic massages may be of benefit, but your massages should be carefully orchestrated with your plastic surgeon. I have only seen complications like hematoma and seroma due to increased pressure from the massage. I do not recommend lymphatic massage for my patients, because I feel as though if the result is smooth on the table, the result can only be sabotaged.

Answer: Pain Dear karlay111111, Pain level after surgery is individual as two persons will react differently after the same procedure. Most BBL patients don't have significant pain after surgery. In most cases, they have soreness which lasts a few days and they are in such good shape that they are able to go to work. Also, every plastic surgeon has his own method and recommendations for pain management. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.
