Can I use an arnica cream or gel directly on injected Restylane lip a day later?

Hello,Yes, Arnica cream or gel is not a problem to use, but we agree that the pill form may be more productive.  For swelling, we recommend to our patients the use of gentle icing (gentle) the first 1-2 days, Ibuprofen and Benadryl.  We also discourage massaging or manipulation as this may exacerbate the swelling and/or move the product.  We invite all new injection patients to return in 2 weeks for a complimentary check up.  You may want to ask your practitioner for a follow up to address any concerns.  For most, the swelling improves with each passing day.

I also think it is foolish to instruct patients to apply direct pressure to a filler treatment because there is a risk of moving product.  Gentle icing is helpful the first and second day.  Don't over do it.  It is primarily for your comfort.

You can use arnica. Icing and cold compresses can help also. Yes, you may have swelling, which can be asymmetrical, for 1-2 weeks after injections. You can apply firm pressure between two fingers on the lips for a few days, for 5 mins a time, in order to help decrease swelling.
