Thank you for sharing your question and photos concerning your recent treatment. Bruising after lip fillers is completely normal and fairly common when injecting dermal fillers with a needle. Swelling and bruising can last up to two weeks after initial treatment.  In the future, you may want to consider lip injections with the microcannula technique. This technique for injecting fillers utilizes a blunt tipped microcannula, which essentially eliminated the risk of bruising and reduces swelling associated with the procedure. Thank you for your question. It is common to have some swelling in the lips after filler injection that can take up to 2 weeks to resolve. You can use cold compresses to the treated area to help reduce any swelling. If you are unhappy with your final results you can have the filler dissolved with hyaluronidase. Swelling from lip injections can take around 2 weeks to fully resolve. Even if you had minimal swelling the last time you had your injections, you may have a different response the next time. Additionally, you noted you had a different type of filler injected this treatment session. You didn't specify whether it was Restylane or Restylane Silk. Certainly injectable filler products, like Restylane Silk, attract more water to the injected area than others, which can cause more swelling. Give yourself 2 weeks to evaluate the final results. If you still have concerns at that time, I would schedule an appointment with your provider to discuss your options. Good luck!

It is not unusual for there to be swelling and numb feeling 4 days after lip injection but it looks like you have had a significant amount injected. give it a couple of weeks to calm down and see if it is as you like it and if not contact your doctor

Thank you for sharing your question about your recent treatment. It is completely normal to experience swelling after filler injections to the lips for up to two weeks. The lips are very sensitive and generally draw more water than other areas of the face. In some cases, filler may have been injected unevenly or too superficially, causes visibly irregularity. Your injector may recommend dissolving the existing filler using an enzyme called hyaluronidase. Once injected, the enzyme will dissolve the filler with 24 hours.
