I've been researching both and I'm curious about which procedure would give me more bang for my buck. If I chose one, which would help me achieve a more attractive/proportional face, a rhinoplasty or chin implant? Thanks so much.

Answer: Rhinoplasty or chin implant for more attractive face? From your photos- it appears that you would benefit from rhinoplasty - to make your nose more elegant and feminine, as well as small chin implant- for better facial harmony. Seek an experienced Board Certified PS with expertise in Rhinoplasty.

Answer: Rhinoplasty makes the chin look better. Esthetically, you have nice facial features overall. A chin implant would likely benefit your facial profile. A hump reduction, deprojection (bringing the tip in) and tip narrowing would refine your nose. If your chin does not bother you, but your nose does, then a rhinoplasty alone may be appropriate. After rhinoplasty, many patients feel that their chins looks better because the nose is less prominent. But patients who specifically want a stronger chin or who have very weak chins generally should have an implant. (You may not need a chin implant, but it's hard to tell from you pics, because your chin is down on all views.)A consultation with a plastic surgeon who focuses on rhinoplasty can helpclarify the best option for you. Good luck. Thanks for the question.

Answer: Rhinoplasty, chin implant or something else Hi h91, I have reviewed you pictures. Although your nose could be refined your chin is more out of proportion with your face. When I look at your front view I also notice that you have excess buccal fat. This gives you a puffy cheek look. I f you want your face to appear more heart shaped, thinner towards the jawline you may consider removing some of this fat and a chin implant and not a rhinoplasty. If you look in the mirror and suck in your cheeks slightly this can mimmick the result you can achieve with removal of this fat. It is a very straight forward procedure however the surgeon must be careful not to remove too much fat. I think if you are not unhappy with the appearance of your nose, a chin implant and buccal fat excision will give you the improvement you are looking for. Good luck.

Answer: Rhinoplasty and chin implant combination The photographs demonstrate an overly projecting nose, and an under projecting chin. The combination of a rhinoplasty and chin implant will help significantly with facial balance and proportions. The chin implant would help more than the rhinoplasty procedure. Chin implants are manufactured in a variety of sizes and shapes, are composed of Silastic, and can be inserted under local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. The incision for the placement is underneath the chin. For many examples of this combination, please see the link and video below
