Is it normal to get body odor after getting MiraDry?

Hang in there! MiraDry can lead to a temporary bad odor that goes away within 10 to 14 days after the procedure. If you're still having problems after 2 weeks, then see your injector. Level 5 is the way to go....Best wishes, Dr. ALDO 

This is a normal reaction, and should resolve within a month. If not, you may require a second treatment also at level 5- but wait 3 months before retreating. Best of luck!

Worse odor can sometimes occur after miraDry but should disappear within a few weeks.  You should be seen by the physician who performed your treatment in order to be examined and make sure you are healing okay.

About 82% of the sweat production is eliminated.  We treat on level 5 so that the odor reduction is more consistent.  This may be the issue for you.  I will attach a link for more information.

Yes,bad body odor can occur after about 1-2 weeks post miradry. It will take about 7-10days for it to go away. I would not be too concerned. Once it resolves, it should not occur again. We have treated over 200 patients in our clinic and this is a common occurrence. Hope this helps!

I'm so sorry you had a horrible experience!   You should have been completely numb and not felt any pain.   The procedure kills both the odor and sweat glands of the underarms, but occasionally, some of the odor glands will survive.   Before miradry, when you were also sweating, the excessive sweat "washed away" some of the odor by diluting it.   Now that there is less sweat, the odor can be more noticeable.    Give it 3 months, and if you are still having an issue with this you can return for a 2nd treatment.  In our clinic, 85% of patients only need one treatment;  15% require two.

Sorry to hear you are experiencing this, it can be frustrating. However, not to worry, this can occur and should subside within a week to 2 weeks after the procedure. After 1 treatment most patients will see an 80% reduction in underarm sweat and odor while some patients require a second treatment which should get you to your goal.
