Is it possible to get miraDry on the hands?

Hi, I keep hearing that miradry going to come out the solution for palmarHH, but looks like it’s not gonna happen anytime soon. Why they can not tell approx. when ,or in which phase is the process? They did say end of 2016 or 2017, and now end of 2017 or 2018. Anybody ideas, just give a little hope to the people:) thank you

To my knowledge, there is no permanent solution for hyperhidrosis for your hands, just the underarms. MiraDry is a fantastic procedure for underarm sweat, hair, and odor. I have heard of some lotions that help with sweaty hands that might be worth trying until there is a more permanent solution. Carpe lotion is one of them I've heard of. Unfortunately, we don't know when or if MiraDry will become available for other areas of the body, but Dysport and/or Botox is a great safe alternative for now. Best of luck!

Right now there's no way to know when the new process for hand sweat reduction will be available. I would suggest Botox or Dysport for now. We may be waiting a long time or a short time, but it's not always predictable with regulatory bodies. Good luck, Dr. ALDO

Patients typically see an 80% sweat reduction, 60% odor reduction, and a 50% hair reduction at 12 months. The treatment is noninvasive and takes about three hours to complete. Miradry is not FDA approved for any other area of the body at this time. I would recommend having an in person consultation with a certified injector. Botox is something that you can look into for the hands.

You are correct that a miradry treatment is on the way with the ability to treat the hands. Realistically, the process of bringing any new technology to the market takes time. Evaluating safety, efficacy, and optimal treatment protocols are time consuming and are critical to the development process. Additionally, the process of obtaining FDA clearance will also influence the release date.

Great question.  Currently the device is only approved to treat underarms.  We hope eventually there will be applications for hands.  Many of our patients do well with off-label use of glycopyrrolate or oxybutynin as well as botox injections in the palms (results last about 6 months).

To my knowledge the miraDry procedure is not approved for the hands, only the underarms.  It is a great procedure for perspiration and highly recommend the treatment.
I have used Botox for sweaty hands and this has worked well.

No you cannot use the current miraDry device to treat hands.  Hopefully this will be developed soon to those patients with extreme hand sweating.
