I'm flying < 2 hours, 14-days post tummy tuck and hysterectomy. Will it be okay to take the trip?

Post-operative
instructions will vary from surgeon to surgeon so it is extremely important
that you follow your surgeon's specific instructions carefully. Call your
surgeon’s office for clarification.  For
my patients I prefer that they do not travel for the first 4 - 6 weeks. The
healing process can vary from individual to individual and there may also be
some restrictions such as lifting, pushing or pulling. Should a
complication arise it may be difficult to find the appropriate care or you
may have to fly back to see you surgeon. It might be best to post pone your
trip.

You have had two major surgeries and taking a flight 2 weeks afterwards does increase the chance of a DVT. I would lean on the recommendation of your plastic surgeon.  Earl Stephenson, Jr, MD, DDS, FACS

The magnitude of the procedure,
mainly the amount of tissue removed, the blood loss and the operative time is
important when determining that it is safe again to fly. I would review this
with both your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Gynecologist to see what their suggestions
are. Normally with a combined hysterectomy/abdominoplasty, we would tend to recommend
that flying not be conducted for usually 4-6 weeks following surgery so that
your mobility has returned close to normal so you can move about, stretch your
legs and minimize your risk for blood clot. Hope his helps!

Why ask here on an open forum. ASK your GYN and PS if they are OK with your flying. It is their responsibility to care for you and offer you post operative protocols that are acceptable. If you were my patient I would have serious reservations in allowing you to fly after a larger surgery.. 

No one can promise you it is ok to fly 2 weeks after surgery. Your additional risk factors are minimal, but, there are always more risks on a plane. Fluid collection, blood clots, bleeding can occur. Wear your garment, teds, and check with your surgeons to get their permission, and their reccommendations
