Hello and thank you for your question. Based on yourphotograph, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. You may also benefit from a cephalic rotationof your tip to turn up your tip slightly and a conservative dorsal humpreduction. Cost varies based on geographic region and surgeon expertise. Make sure you specifically look atbefore and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performedby your surgeon and not just a computer animation system. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. Irecommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plasticsurgeon who can evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Reish, M.D. FACSHarvard-trained plastic surgeon
Click on the "Learn more" link, just below my response, or go here:FacialSurgery.com/RealSelf/RealSelf_saratrogers.htmlI made a couple of computer morphs of your nose, and animations of the morphs, to show the changes that are possible for your nose in truly expert hands. The photos you posted weren't posed, and you're smiling in most of them, so they're actually not very good for making morphs. But it seems the main issues of your nose are its length, the way the tip sits a bit low, and some excess width at the tip.You might have to look at the animations to see the changes best. Seems that the changes look small in these particular poses, although I'll bet that regular posed photos would show the changes better. You should understand that the changes I demonstrated in the morph require advanced techniques, techniques that most plastic surgeons cannot handle. Be sure to read the section in the "Learn more" link on how to stay out of trouble while searching for a rhinoplasty surgeon. Rhinoplasty is an exquisitely difficult operation to get right, and you should only have surgery if you are able to make yourself very confident in your surgeon's skills. Read that page very carefully. I'd love to hear what you think of the morph. Did it seem to address your main concerns? I could modify the morph to your taste if you wish.Your nose is also a good example of why computer imaging is mandatory in rhinoplasty. You need to know exactly what the surgeon is planning to accomplish -- what features he thinks he can change, and by how much he thinks he can change them. When you see his goals, you'll know whether he has an eye for an attractive nose, and whether he shares your opinion of what constitutes an attractive nose. You'll also know whether the changes he proposes are enough to be meaningful to you, and whether he understands your wishes enough to address all of your priorities. But remember, you're not hiring him for his skills with the computer. The doctor must then show you his before and after photos to prove that he can actually accomplish what he draws on the computer. In your case in particular, you need to find a surgeon who understands all of the issues I mentioned, and how they fit together, and who can actually accomplish them in surgery. Finally, at the *very* bottom of the "Learn more" page is a link to instructions on taking and sending photos that are comprehensive and useful for an online consultation like this, in case you'd like a more complete evaluation.
Thank you for your question and photos. Depending on where you go for your rhinoplasty, the price can range from $3800 up to $12,000. I recommend you consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon experienced in rhinoplasty who can evaluate you, discuss your goals, do a virtual simulation, and show before/after photographs to give you a better idea of what type of results you can expect to get. Good luck!
Although cost is important, quality should supersede as the deciding factor. A reasonable range is from $7-15 thousand, depending on where you live and who you see. Rhinoplasty is absolutely the most complicated and demanding of facial plastic surgical procedures. Therefore, it is incumbent on the prospective patient to seek out a Rhinoplasty expert. Occasional Rhinoplasty Surgeons are more likely to be less expensive, so be diligent in your research.
The cost of a rhinoplasty is directly related to the amount of time it takes to perform the procedure in a formal operating room, time monitored by an anesthesiologist under general anesthesia, and the surgeon's fees for performing the procedure in addition to all of the post- op appointments. Anticipate a cast applied across the bridge of the nose for one week, and visible bruising and swelling for two weeks. For many before-and-after examples and our current price list, please see the link and the video below
Dear Sara, Thank you for your question. It is certainly a major concern of many patients. It depends on what is done and that's why a consultation is so important. I do virtual consultations for patients out of town. For a purely cosmetic rhinoplasty done with a closed technique including the OR and anesthesia by a board certified MD anesthesiologist is around $5500.00. If septal work is needed (which may be covered by your insurance) it may add an additional $1200-1500.00. If you would like to send me a true laterals and a full face on photo we can do 3D imaging that you can visualize on your computer. You can call my Boca Raton Office at 561-912-9191 and my staff can give you all the information you need. Good luck with your decision. Dr. Schuster in Boca Raton.
Based on your photos and your goals, you would be a good candidate for the procedure. Most commonly this procedure is performed to refine the tip of the nose, make the nose smaller and perhaps slim down the profile. These are some of the most common maneuvers that we perform. I would trust a surgeon who has done many rhinoplasties in his or her practice. An in person consultation would be performed to determine the type of procedure best for you. As far as recovery, there is a period of swelling and bruising after the procedure and we schedule frequent follow ups to evaluate progress. I have a very individual approach to rhinoplasty. The cost may range from around $6000-$10,000 depending on the type of procedure we deem best. This is a very specialized procedure and cost should not be the only factor of course. Good luck!Kailash Narasimhan, MD Board certified ENT and Plastic Surgeon
Your nose presents some challenging issues despite the fact it might look easy to fix. You have a very modest bump on the profile and this must be changed in only the most subtle way, so that a scooped out bridge would be avoided. In addition and I believe most importantly the tip of your nose is slightly droopy. This can all be corrected while carrying out ultra natural looking no scar closed rhinoplasty procedure that changes the nose in a subtle way that does not give away the fact that you had rhinoplasty. As far as cost goes the fees can vary according to the geographic location of your hospital facilities and anesthesia cost. The fees can vary significantly approximately between $ 7500 to roughly $ 12,000.00 not including facility or anesthesia fees, for uncomplicated primary rhinoplasty.Recovery - patients should expect some bruising, swelling and discomfort after the surgery, but my patients usually experience minimal difficulties and very little pain. Most patients are able to return to work or school after a week to 10 days and can resume more strenuous activity in about a month.
The fees for rhinoplasty vary greatly across the country and even in the same area. We charge starting at $3500. Do not make your decision solely on cost. Rhinoplasty surgery requires a surgeon with extensive experience and expertise to get the results that you would seek and as revision rhinoplasty is extremely complex and sometimes can not be performed. We are able to maintain cost savings for patients while maintaining the highest quality due to the fact that we have our own AAAASF nationally certified center and a long standing working association with an MD Anesthesiologist. The initial recovery for a rhinoplasty is generally between 10 days - 2 weeks. However, this will vary depending on the scope of surgery and the specifics of the patient. To understand more about your options and to get a better understanding of the recovery, consult in person with an experienced and expert board certified plastic surgeon.
You would be a good candidate for a Rhynoplasty. As a former art artist, from the LA County Museum of Art, I like to use advanced suturing techniques to refine the nose. During the consultation I first like to find out from the patient what their goals are. I then perform a detailed physical exam of the nose. A detailed operative plain is written down and discussed with the patient. I incorporate the FINNESSE technique, witch I invented. I routinely do not pack the nose. Bleeding, bruising, pain and recovery are minimal when compared to traditional techniques. I hope you find this information useful. For more information please watch the enclosed video.
Awesome question: Simultaneous rhinoplasty with jaw reshaping surgery can be done, but with some cautions. When dealing with upper jaw surgery, the majority of the swelling can distort the nasal / nose contours, so minimal nasal changes can be done, but the patient needs to be aware...
The two profile photos of your nose are not adequate for determining your candidacy for rhinoplasty. You may have a short nasal septum which may allow you to flatten your nasal tip. An examination of the strength and amount of septal cartilage you have in your nose would be necessary. Consider...
It takes 3-6 months for the majority of swelling to subside but it is certainly possible your slope may not be quite as curved as you and your surgeon were aiming for. Three weeks postop is super early. Your surgeon may recommend taping/massage to the tissues but you really need to give it ...
