I went to see Dr Tobias on a family friends recommendation. I had a bump and a unevenness to the middle portion of my nose which made me really dislike any angle of my nose that wasn't front facing. I was very impressed with my initial consultation and I felt very confident having him do the corrections after meeting with him. He has a very distinguished philosophy for correcting noses and makes them fit your face and still feel like your own. I recently had surgery and the process was all very easy and smoothly done. The recovery was fairly quick and I am in love with my new nose! I would recommend Dr. Tobias to any person who is looking to correct any aspects of their nose they don't like.
Dr. Tobias did my rhinoplasty about a year ago. He is absolutely excellent. He is professional, intelligent, and honest. I had a bump on my nose that I hated my entire life. I liked the tip of my nose, so we we decided to leave that and only focus on the bump. He did an amazing job and I only wish I had done it sooner! I was afraid to get cosmetic surgery because of the stigma that came along with it. And now looking back I realize how silly that is. I have so much more confidence is in the way I look, this is one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself.
This journey began six years ago when I first learned of rhinoplasty surgery and pictured myself with a different nose. I was primarily motivated to have rhinoplasty for self-esteem issues, in addition to wanting a nose that "actually" fit my face. As a 20-year-old male, I was concerned with the inevitable risks associated with any cosmetic procedure, and I was unsure of how to choose a surgeon. Specifically, I wanted to reduce the large dorsal hump that is so noticeable in the pre-op photos. A frontal view of my face shows no noticeable issues, but my profile was something I needed to change. After months of research, consultations (virtual with Covid-19), and phone calls, I finally met with Dr. Tobias (for free) and immediately knew he was the one to perform my procedure. Not only did his demeanor ease my fears, Dr. Tobias knew what I wanted before I even told him. He assured me that he would preserve my masculine facial features and never give me a "cookie-cutter nose." Dr. Tobias does not use imaging as he believes in a natural aesthetic that is best shown through hand-drawn images. After agreeing on what looked right, and what was surgically possible, I was sent for several blood tests and a COVID test as preliminary clearance. Kate and Gail, the two wonderful office assistant were there every step of the way and answered any questions I had leading up to my surgery. All procedures are done at Englewood Hospital which is a five minute drive from Dr. Tobias' Englewood Cliffs Office. I would also note that I live in upstate New York (1.5 hrs away) and never limited my search for a surgeon due to price or distance. My tip would be to choose the surgeon who is the most credible, experienced, and charismatic. Under NO circumstance should you choose a surgeon because of a cheaper quote. Returning to the surgery day, the nurses and anesthesiologists at Englewood Health are extremely friendly and caring. After my initial paperwork, I spent about an hour in the pre-op area and then was taken to the surgery room. About 3 hours later, I awoke with a new nose (beneath my cast and bandages) and was cared for by the nurses until I was released. Dr. Tobias spoke to me post-surgery and explained what had occurred and what I should expect during recovery. All packing was taken out in the hospital (routine for Dr. Tobias). Recovery is a year-long process, but the majority of noticeable changes and extra caution occur within the first month. During the first week of recovery, I had little pain in my nose and survived on Tylenol and Arnica-Montana pills. What did hurt (sometimes to the extreme) was my throat due to the intubation that occurs with anesthesia. My uvula swelled up, and I had some bruising in my throat/mouth. While this limited my food, sleeping, and ability to talk, it did resolve about 7 days post-operation. Occasionally this can morph into an infection, so be sure to ask your surgeon (Dr. Tobias) about this or any other concerns you may have. Additionally, my nose was extremely blocked with discharge that was later removed when the cast comes off (6 days later). Dr. Tobias exclusively performs rhinoplasties, and only uses the closed technique. As a result, I have no scars, and I experienced virtually no bruising. As the pictures show, my nose is absolutely amazing and transformed. Dr. Tobias could not have done a better job, and I see myself in a whole new light. I cannot stop staring at my nose, and everyone I see comments on how natural it looks. In fact, several friends said I looked great/different, but could not pinpoint it to my nose. This, in itself, speaks to Dr. Tobias' talent and eye for aesthetic. He will give you the nose of your dreams, and it may even exceed your expectations (it did for me). My nose looks better each day as swelling improves, and it has narrowed out. Additionally, the tip (which was defined) has rotated down to its natural position and my nostrils have evened out. Everything is on track for a smooth recovery and outstanding results. Again, I could not recommend Dr. Tobias more. He is an artist, and a down-to-earth surgeon who cares about his patients' goals. His credential rival and exceed the top surgeons in New York City, and he spends many hours traveling the world to train the best of the best on the close-rhinoplasty technique. Dr. Tobias is a pioneering genius of the rhinoplasty field, and you will not regret your own journey with him. I could keep going for a long time, but I will stop here. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message. Good luck to all! It is 100% worth doing. Updated on 18 Jul 2020: Thought this was the best profile comparison to share. Top is the pre-op profile. Bottom is the post-op profile (about 3 weeks). Swelling has continued to decrease, and the stuffiness is also diminishing.
Had my rhinoplasty done in 2008 and I still love it! A friend who used Dr Tobias recommend him to me. Scarless and recovery was a breeze! I traveled from Virginia to have it done. He fixed the nostrils and bump in bridge. Everyone who I tell tells me how natural and good it looks
My nose is something I’ve always wanted done. Since I was a younger, I hated my nose. It’s didn’t fit my face whatsoever! I characterized it as a witch nose .. it was big and bulbous. It made me feel so self conscious about myself. When I looked at pictures it was the first thing I saw and wanted to see how it looked. I hated taking pictures and oh my god if it was a side profile of it I would hate it! As much as I hated my nose it didn’t stop me in life. I went to a regular doctors appointment and my doctor had informed me I had a deviated septum. I started looking into it. I met with one doctor but I hated my experience with my appointment . I was seen 45 minutes after my appointment time; had to pay a consultation fee: and it was rushed.dont get me wrong the doctor was very nice and does great work, but it wasn’t personalized and so over my budget. Then I said maybe it wasn’t going to be meant to be. Then I was recommended to Dr. Tobias. It was an amazing experience. From the moment I walked into the door of his office it was a different experience. His staff was so friendly and acknowledged you from the moment you stepped into the office. When I got to meet Dr. Tobias, he sat down with me, and we went over all the details. He pointed out things I never even realized! He is the professional. I felt so comfortable with my consultation, my time with Doctor Tobias was more than the time I waited in the waiting room of my first consultation. I called my husband about my experience and booked it. Best thing I ever did for myself. Within a week of my appointment, my life changed. It was already a huge improvement! My nose fit my face! It was no longer the focus of my face. It looks natural! People who know me were like you look different but couldn’t tell what it was! Dr Tobias is such an artist! He is amazing. I had a closed rhinoplasty. I had minimal bruising and experienced no pain. Yea I had some discomfort but that’s because of the cast on the nose which made it uncomfortable to breathe, but once that was removed I was back to work within the week of my procedure. You couldn’t even see the stitches. My one friend called Dr. Tobias a magician. For the people who have realized I had the procedure I receive so many compliments. I’m so excited about what’s still to come with the healing and swelling to go down. It only gets better! Thank you Dr. Tobias for changing my life for the better!
I’m only 3 weeks post op and I am in love with the results! My nose is going to get even better over time as it heals. I have no scarring due to dr.tobias’s closed rhinoplasty procedure. Everyone who knows me loves the results. It is very natural and it is not visible I had my nose done to people who don’t know me. I am very happy!
I am currently 6 weeks post op and couldn’t be more happy with my results. It is only going to get even better over these next few months! It looks so natural, I don’t think anyone would ever look at me and know I’ve had a nose job (unless i told them of course). Dr. Tobias performs a closed rhinoplasty so i have no scarring at all. I was VERY bruised and my eyes were so swollen when i was recovering, and that is the only bad part of the whole thing! I really had no pain at all and overall was a great experience. Everyone in his office is so kind and welcoming. Two of my friends and also my sister have gotten their nose done by him and we will all continue to recommend him to anyone we know that is interested in rhinoplasty. Thank you Dr. Tobias!
Dr Tobias is friendly, warm and an excellent surgeon. I had a botched nose job done a few years ago by a snooty, expensive Fifth avenue surgeon. When one side of my nose collapsed a few years later I went to him and he was extremely dismissive. After searching and consulting with a few doctors, I’m SO glad I found Dr Tobias. At a month out, my new nose is beautiful and natural looking, even with the swelling. His office staff is extremely friendly and responsive. A great experience.
I went to Dr Tobias for a Rhinoplasty in June of 2001. I was 21 years old and hated my nose. The results of The surgery were great, but as someone who grew up very self conscious of my nose I would only have given it 4 stars back then (I just wasn’t happy). But then those years of low self esteem melted away with time and I realized that I looked great! I did a plastic surgery rotation at my Ivy League Medical School. When I told the plastic surgeon that I had plastic surgery performed on me as well he looked all around to try to figure out what the proceedure was and he couldn’t figure it out. One of my good friends from medical school is a plastic surgeon now and I just told him of the procedure. He wanted to see before and after photos. When I sent them, his response- “NICE!” I love my new nose. I am African-American and I think that Dr Tobias was able to give me something more dainty while still preserving some natural characteristics. Thus when people see me they think-“wow, she is pretty!” Not “wow, what a nose” Awesome job I give it 5 stars!!!
I had a consultation with Dr. Tobias to get a second opinion on a revision rhinoplasty with rib graft. I am unsure if I am pleased with the result, and I wanted to get an objective, expert opinion before meeting with the surgeon who performed the revision. I also wanted to find out if I will need additional surgery to correct some irregularities. Dr. Tobias reassured me that it is too soon to give an accurate assessment (it's been almost 1 year), and patiently walked me through his analysis of my case. I left his office fully satisfied with his examination, and although he restored my confidence in the work of my revision surgeon, I wish Dr. Tobias had performed my revision rhinoplasty. He is a knowledgeable, patient surgeon who seems invested in the well-being of people seeking honest feedback concerning rhinoplasty.
the only way to get a permanent improvement in your situation is to undergo a cartilage grafting technique. the bone and cartilage that was removed during your original surgery must be replaced. liquid fillers are often not permanent fixes in these situations. only a true surgical rhinoplasty will solve the problem. endonasal(closed) rhinoplasty will work. you may need a small quantity of cartilage grafted from your ear if your had a prior septoplasty and no longer have cartilage win the nose to use for this.
you should be an excellent patient for an endonasal(closed) preservation rhinoplasty. your skin appears to be relatively thin with decent lower lateral tip cartilage. you would like need suture and cartilage recontouring of these tissues. the recovery would be rapid with modest swelling. the definition of the tip in a male rhinoplasty is key to a good looking result and your should be able to get a nice result
from looking at that shape of your nose there is no reason that you would not have a closed technique. there are new innovations in the closed techniques that can alter the shape of your tip called preservation or conservation rhinoplasty. your columella is retracted and needs significant support as well as deprojection and realignment of the lower later cartilages through closed cartilage suturing and grafting. this can be done in conjunction with a septalplasty and spreader graft to straighten your bridge.
there are two areas that would make your nose look more attractive. a small bump on the bridge could be removed.this must be done very conservatively so that it doesn't give the illusion that the tip is larger. the tip should be reduced significantly in size and increased in definition. this would be done endonasally using micro sutures as well as contouring cartilage grafts. alar skin wedges would reduce the size of the nostrils.
looking at your photo there are a couple of areas of the nose the could use some further refinement . the dorsum is somewhat wide and could be slimed dome a small amount. the tip shows that the columella is slightly droopy and there is a lack of definition within the apex of the tip. as they say beauty is in the eyes of the beholder so its really your call if you would want to undergo further surgery to refinement your nose.
