6 weeks post op, could this be capsular contracture? (Photo)

Question

My left boob is riding a lot higher then my right. They are both squishy although my right is softer. My dr. Thought I could be capsulated but after massaging them said he thinks I just need to massage them more because they both felt the same. I'm not sure if he was trying to make me feel better or what. Could I have capsular contracture? Any thoughts? 6 weeks post op.

If they both move well, it is less likely to be capsular contracture.  It would either be related to post-op swelling which hasn't yet resolved, an incompletely dissected pocket, tissue tightness or some other factors.  Best to follow up with your surgeon over the next month or 2 and see if it settles with time.  Some surgeons may use an elastic bandeau to help the high side drop.  Ask your PS about this option.

After a breast implant surgery it takes up to 6 months for a painful recovery, during this process you will see many changes, it is very little time to determine if it is a capsular contracture, but if you still have the same symptoms, contact a certified plastic surgeon And perform a sonomamography to visualize the state of the implants.

Without in person examination very hard t say acc has occurred. To me appears as wrong volume to that side. Where you volume asymmetrical pre operatively? Also might be uneven inferior dissection because of the use of axillary incision approach which is very common complication of this option. Best to seek in person second opinions for revision ASAP.

Thanks for the question.  I doubt  that you could have a capsular contracture this early after surgery.  It often will occur months later, if it occurs.  I would believe that your implant pocket is a little higher on the left than on the right side, and possibly this will lower itself with time.  The longer it stays high, the less likely it will go down to assume a better position.  Continue to follow the advice of your Plastic Surgeon.
