How does tip deprojection impact the rest of the nose?

This is an important point about rhinoplasty. Everything in the nose is connected in one complex and dynamic system. If you change the tip, you change all other parts of the nose and how they fit together. Sometimes, this is ok. for example, if you have an over projected tip, then deprojecting may make everything come back into balance. But, if the width is ok with an over projected tip, then deprojecting will mean you should adjust the width for proportionality. We deproject the nose regularly, as a smaller nose is often what people want, and we consider every potential result of our maneuvers.

If you have a cartilage graft in your nose that is problematic simply get it removed. Many grafts that are placed serve me purpose and I think there are too many grafts done for no reason. I have removed many tip grafts and other cartilage grafts and the results were better I was thinking to myself “why did they put a graft in there to begin with ?”
