Hello and thank you for posting a photo along with your question. It is very early to be concerned about the asymmetry you see because swelling can be uneven. That being said....Preop photos would be really helpful in answering this question. I always perform a thorough evaluation before surgery and make sure my patients are aware of any asymmetries that are present. As human beings, we are ALL asymmetric. One hip can be bigger or higher. There can be more fat on one side compared to another. There can be more loose skin on one side compared to another and so on and so forth. The reason this is important is that some of these asymmetries that are present before surgery, will be present after surgery. All that being said, you appear to have a very nice result so far. Be patient and wait for your 6 month mark to be concerned about any asymmetry. I hope this helps and wish you a speedy recovery! Congrats on your new body!Ankur Mehta MD
Mild differences in swelling from on side to the other after tummy tuck are relatively common at this early stage. However, if you are concerned, I suggest you have your doctor evaluate this.
thank you for your question and photo. It is not uncommon to see asymmetries this early postoperatively. It will take many weeks and months for you to see your final results. It is always best to follow up with her operative plastic surgeon as recommended to guide you through this process. Best of luck and congratulations.
It is very common to see a difference from one side to the other in the first few weeks (sometimes months) after a major surgery such as a tummy tuck. You may have required more surgical dissection on one side, more liposuction on one side or maybe you tend to favor one side when resting. From your photos, you do not seem that uneven. A direct physical examination would be needed to definitively rule out any issues that could be causing a difference in the two sides appearance (bleeding, torn muscle etc.) besides the normal post operative swelling.
It is WAY too early to assess your results. Keep wearing your binder and follow up with your surgeon. It looks like you are on your way to a good result.
Great question! Without pictures to give an idea which type of abdominoplasty procedure (tummy tuck) will best address your concerns, it's tough to say. If you don't have any/much excess loose skin above your belly button you may be a candidate for a mini tummy tuck where the belly button is ...
Thank you for your pictures and questions. I am going to assume that at some point, you had an open wound in the area of your umbilicus. During the healing of this wound, the body develops granulation tissue as the wound fills. Sometimes this tissue can grow too much and can even develop a ...
Thank you for submitting your question. Leg pain after tummy tuck is always a bit concerning. Fortunately, with the advances in medicine, there are very easy ways to rule out vein thrombosis. Please be sure to notify your plastic surgeon of your symptoms. This certainly deserves an...
