Thank you for the good question. After injection with Juvederm the skinbecomes more swollen for a few days. This then subsides, but the area injectedbecomes smoother and looks better over a couple of weeks due to the absorption ofwater. I hope you find this helpful.
Hi. Yes, you do see immediate results with the filler injection. Juvederm is a "hydrophilic" (water-loving) material, so it soaks up water over time. This gives a secondary improvement. However, once the material is gone, you return to your pre-injection state.
I do not feel that HA fillers build collagen so I think you go back to your normal look after the fillers dissolve. Fillers like Radiesse, Sculptra, and Bellafill do give a long term result especially in combination with laser procedures. Best, Dr. Emer.
Results from Juvederm are, largely, immediate. The product does, however, continue to absorb water from the tissues over the first several days following injection, giving a little more "bang for the buck" than is seen initially. This effect is more pronounced with Juvederm Ultra Plus than with Juvederm Ultra.
Juvederm is a very immediately gratifying medication in that most of the effect is instantly visual. However, if you have very deep wrinkles they may continue to improve over several weeks as the skin elasticity reacts to having new support under the wrinkle and the surrounding tissues mold to acommodate the volume infusion.
Normally with Juvederm you do see results right away but in time they the results do get better.
The answer to your question is both! With appropriate volume correction you should see the results of Juvederm immediately. It will also continue to work over the course of the next couple of weeks to pull in fluid from the surrounding tissues and give further improvement. Hope this helps answer your question.
All hyaluronic acid filler results (Restylane®, Juvederm®, Perlane®) are immediate, but some people also get even more improvement of the most superficial of their fine lines 4-6 weeks after treatment, because studies show that these injections can cause increased collagen growth- an added bonus!
Great question! Because it indicates you most likely were under treated in volume or # of syringes of Juvederm. If given the correct injected volume of filler the results should be noticed immediately. But patients try to "stretch" that one syringe to fill in to many areas. Look at the patient poster in most offices of Juvederm, before and after, each patient had 3.2 to 4.2 syringes of filler NOT 1.....
The results of Juvederm injection are immediate. It is rare that results will improve with any time. In fact, swelling from the injection occasionally goes down in several days making the result less acceptable. Facial lines will never improve. If, however, Juvederm is put around the eyes above the orbital rim, it will relatively frequently cause swelling that will usually worsen the result. See an expert injector who can determine what will give you the best result.
