Very slight bleeding after Juvederm in upper lip. Do I need to be worried that this is a sign of infection?

I was brushing my teeth about 8 hours after my injection and I noticed a bit of minor bleeding at one of the injection sites. Do I need to be worried that this is a sign of infection? Or will a lump form?

A little bit of bleeding is common and should go away. Please keep the area clean and avoid touching it to minimize the risk of infection.

A little bleeding after lip injections can be expected, especially if thereis minor trauma. Be gentle with the areas treated. If bleeding does develop, hold pressure forone to two minutes and any oozing should subside

I sugest going to an expert for filler injections that uses cannulas , in the future.  as well, bleeding is normal unless you have pain, swelling, irregularities then I wouldnt be concerned.  Best, Dr. Emer.

I wouldn't be concerned about nfection. I used to used cannulas for lips but with Restylane Silk, I now use needles which bleeds a little more.

You can certainly get a little bleeding after filler injection. However, getting it 8 hours later is a bit odd. It's possible that, after vigorous brushing, you may have opened up one or more of the injection sites with subsequent bleeding. However, it's also possible that you have a problem with your blood coagulating normally. See your PCP and explain exactly what you experienced. He/she may want to run a few tests.It's too soon after getting the injection to suspect an infection. And it's also unlikely to get a bump if you are actually bleeding. A bump is more likely to occur if there was bleeding under the surface and formed a clot. This would be a rare occurance especially if some pressure was applied after being injected.             jlr
