I’m a 47 year old 173cms and 57 kgs . I currently have 400cc silicone implants under the muscle . It’s been 10 years now and I’m about to replace them . I wanted a noticeable change and was wanting 550cc but the two surgeons I visited for consult advised not to go bigger than 500cc . What’s 50cc extra gonna do? My current Breslook great after 10 years although one breast has dropped slightly which at 47 doesn’t concern me having perfect asymmetry. I’ve held 100cc sizer and it’s nothing .
Answer: Implant size Dear Phenomenal155765, breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small. You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals. Answer: Selection of the appropriate brand, size and projection of breast implant Hello, I am Dr. Salvador Garcia. Generally, the muscle has the capacity to tolerate a certain amount of implant. In your particular case, it is most likely that your implant is no longer completely under the muscle, but rather in a dual plane. Yes, we can place a larger implant or with a higher projection, this will depend on the brand of the implant and we have to assess the quality of your skin and your tissues, so that there is no risk of exposure of the implant or compromising the blood supply of your nipple and your skin.

Answer: Breasts Going larger is not a good idea since even now your tissue is not completely supporting the weight of the implants. With larger implants, your tissue is thinned and stretched even more and they will bottom out or sag with time. Have your pockets tightened, but keep the same size or go smaller. Bigger is not always better, especially for you.

Answer: Indications for breast surgery You haven’t stated your primary reason for having a revision procedure. Increasing size to the point where the implants are far bigger than the natural diameter of your natural breast, increases the chance of problems and undesirable side effects. This is why providers are recommending that you don’t go significantly bigger. I agree with your current providers assessment. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
