I'm interested in removing my genetic double chin with vaser liposuction. However, I've been reading up on the potentiality for necrosis to occur with liposuction. What's the likelihood or such a thing occurring? I'm young (24), don't smoke or drink and I try to eat a whole foods plant based diet as much as possible. Any insight would be much appreciated - thank you.

Answer: Vaser liposuction extremely safe In my experience over 12 years of thousands of Vaser ultrasound liposuction cases, it is extremely safe.Tumescent solution and proper surgeon‘s technique protects the skin and tissues from injury.Vaser is very effective for chin/neck area and can even be performed under local. An exam and consultation with a plastic surgeon who regularly performs Vaser procedures is recommended to confirm you are a candidate as well as discuss your concerns, options and expectations. We are also offering virtual consultations.

Answer: Double chin and Vaser assisted liposuction The chin is probably the most delicate area that we treat with liposuction and we therefore use low energy settings and thin cannulas. The more fat in the double chin that can be removed, the more significant the change in the person's profile. It can be rather dramatic and satisfying to both patient and clinician. Your age and lifestyle also contribute to a good outcome. Regarding your question about necrosis: This extremely rare phenomenon would occur with extensive burns as caused by over zealous superficial vaser at high energy and/or the liposuction stage is performed too aggressive and too superficial. Simply find a liposuctionist with experience and who had treated many chins and you will be fine. It can be a life changing experience and the result is visible to the patient every day being an exposed part of the human anatomy, the face&neck region.
